Laser Hair Woes

So I went into FUZION today to see Katie for a laser hair removal session on my arms. Now I’m not going for the shaved cat look, but a few sessions will greatly reduce the amount of hair. For those of you who have laser hair removal anywhere on your body you know to shave completely before you go in for a treatment . . .for some reason today, i just trimmed down the hair – BIG MISTAKE. My session was sheer torture and my arms look like a cat scratched the hell out me. Lesson learned for next time.

Moving on to other things FUZION, I will be blogging about SMART LIP with Dr. Goodkind in the coming weeks. So stay tuned for the trials and tribulations of that experience.

Until next time. . .

Im BACK!!!

Happy Fall Y’all! I’m back in action to report on all things FUZION and BRUNO from the past summer. I went “underground” and stayed out of the sun this summer but was in full swing with my treatments at FUZION.

I am happy to report that all is well and Katie, Dr. Goodkind and team have been improving on this “masterpiece”. I can’t wait to share with you all what I have experienced, learned and what my thoughts are looking back.

Stay tuned and we will be posting videos and vlogs.

‘Til then I hope that you are taking the steps to correct your “summer sins”. Give a call over to Laura at FUZION for your free skin consultation and begin to correct the sun damage. There’s no time like the present.

A Day in the Life of Bruno…

This was so much fun to make! FUZION is a platinum sponsor for Out Film Festival in CT and one of their perks for sponsoring was to run a trailer before half of the movies playing at the festival. So voila…it was time for me to make my silverscreen debut! What do you think?

Proud to show support

FUZION is very proud to show our support for the gay community. Yes, we love Bruno and hope that you are all gabbing with him [make sure you join the Bruno Gabs Facebook group too!]. But we wanted to do even more to engage and support the gay community in Connecticut. That’s why we’ve agreed to be sponsors this year for the following:

Out Film Festival: May 27 – June 5
We signed on as a platinum sponsor for the Film Festival’s 23rd year. Out Film CT is a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to presenting outstanding LGBT cinema and other theatrical events throughout the year, culminating in the 10-day Connecticut Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.  As Connecticut’s longest-running film festival, it has become a distinctive fixture in our state’s cultural landscape, bringing the community together to introduce, celebrate and rediscover the ideas and values that make the LGBT community unique.

Connecticut Pride 2010: June 5, 12-7p
We are also a gold sponsor for Connecticut PRIDE. They are made up of volunteers from throughout your community, committed to to celebrating and remembering who we are, where we’ve come from, and how far we need to go. We produce events that promote awareness, tolerance, acceptance, and equality for GLBTI individuals, their friends, and families. We do this to provide a safe space, a healthy sense of family and identity, and to save lives.

CABO: Connecticut’s first and only Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Chamber of Commerce.
CABO’s mission is to create, identify and enhance business opportunities for LGBT and LGBT-friendly organizations, thereby fostering a more inclusive and vibrant Connecticut economy. We’re very proud to have joined this community this year.

You’ll also see us around supporting the CT Gay Men’s Chorus and the New Haven Pride Center. And we are also hosting our own Tea Dance for all things male grooming on June 12.

We’d love to see you show support at these events too. Hope to see you there!

Shedding My Skin . . . Day 1

It’s been about 24 hrs since my peel. My face is pink in color and feels TIGHT and slightly sunburned. I’ve washed with a gentle cleanser and placed a gentle sun screen/moisturizer on my face to prevent damage. The one thing that I didn’t quite enjoy was my work out, my face felt like it was on fire and very to the touch after – not so happy about this.

Shedding My Skin . . .

So 3 weeks after my first Affirm treatment, Laura was ready to take over my face with a chemical peel. I wasn’t sure what to expect, I thought that I would literally have a face mask put on my face and peeled off and that I would like Samantha from Sex and the City – I couldn’t have been more WRONG.

The following VLOG will chronicle the 3 steps it took to complete my first peel. I will be blogging the subsequent days so stay tuned . . .

Affirm Laser review

Hi everyone,

So Kati had me go back to work on the acne scarring on my temples a bit more. The Fraxel has been good so far, but Kati wanted to see more results. That’s why she decided to target my temples with the Affirm Laser [this was the baby brother to the Fraxel that she explained in my consultation].

Here’s a vlog her checking on my progress. Let me know if you have any questions.

AFFIRM-ative ACTION

Facial progress continues. Today Kati took the AFFIRM laser to the sides of my temples where the most severe scarring was. Over all the procedure took less than 5 minutes! AFFIRM does not hurt nearly as much as FRAXEL, in fact there were no meds or topical anesthetic needed. I am a little red, and Kati assured me that it would be better in the am, she also pointed out that because I had the FRAXEL a little over a month ago, the skin is a bit more sensitive. I am able to go about my daily skin routine as well.

After my date with Kati, I had a follow up with Laura, FUZION’s aesthetician. Laura went over my skin care routine with me to see if she needed to tweak it any way. Currently I am set, with the CLAIRSONIC, Purity Vlean wash, Hydra Peptide Gel for moisture and Nikel Eye Crème. Laura did add a moisturizer with sunscreen that she wants me to use daily.

Laura also scheduled me for a chemical peel which will enhance the FRAXEL results. I had to wait at least six weeks to ensure proper healing. I’m a bit nervous and I flat out asked her if was going to look like Samantha from Sex & the City and she told me that I would not. She did say that I would be pink and the next day I would be back to normal but my skin would feel tight and like it had a sunburn. Days 3-4 the outer layer would begin to crack then peel. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the VLOG on my peel as well as my AFFIRM results.

p90X has nothing on MPX . . .

MPX

Truth be told I’m VAIN. . . cue up Carly Simon music. There I said it. Your face is your business and so is your body. We have all seen what Kati and FUZION have been doing to tweak me ever so slightly. Now it’s Dr. Goodkind’s turn. Over the past two years I have been worshiping at the alter of fitness and nutrition. . . with the help of a personal trainer (thank you DUSTIN) and a nutritionist (thank you CHARLIE).

My body is no where near perfect but I have transformed it into a somewhat lean, trim, muscular physique. But no amount of cardio or fitness has taken care of the bane of my existence for the past 20 years… Mr. Flank and Mr. Gut. Apparently I’m genetically predisposed to carry extra weight in these areas, which have decreased in size over the past couple of years but are still there.

Dr. Goodkind informed today that I was a candidate for Smart Lip MPX, a procedure which will sculpt these areas so that I will resemble a human DAVID (well maybe not really but… a boy can dream).

I’m so excited to have this done. This does not mean that I will give up my cardio/weight training and disciplined eating habits. It means I am one step closer to having my ABS meet the world!

Stay tuned for details fellas—and if you have any questions please let me know!
